14 WEEKS 1 DAY

I made it to second trimester! woo hoo! There were moments I thought for sure we were not going to see this day! So with a sigh of relief we are able to spread the news with more confidence than before. I am hanging in there still throwing up everyday and have not gained any weight yet. I have a doctors appointment Tuesday to check on everything. As for all those people who just loved being pregnant and never felt a day of misery do yourself a huge favor and steer clear of me until after June (I'm a little bitter) That's all for now! 13 Weeks, my how time flies

So here we are at 13 weeks! We had an ultrasound yesterday and got to watch the baby for 30 minuets flip, flop and kick. After watching my husband for the last 8 years I know all his movements and expressions. We noticed the baby made similar movements and moved its mouth and jaw like Kari does. It is still to early to tell for sure but I am thinking I have a Kari jr on my hands. We still have to wait 6 more weeks to find out if its a boy or girl but the wait makes it all the more exciting!

Finally.... expanding our family!

So I have been taking along break from the photography. Every single second and all our energy has been involved in the process of expanding our family! For those of you who don't know, Kari and I have been doing fertility treatments for two and a half years. We decided to make the treck to the best IVF clinic in the country out in Denver, Colorado! The process was grueling with alot of ups and downs and unexpected complications but we ended up transferring in two embryo's and 1 made it! So our first baby will be due June 22, 2012! We are at 12 weeks and have decided to share the news with all our friends and family! Here are a few photos of our journey from the clinic in Colorado up until now. I feel like my stomach is huge but considering I was almost 9 pounds at birth this should be no surprise!

Orange factory shoot

A friend of mine that is a photographer in the Cocoa Beach area thought it would be fun to get together and take some photos. He found an old abandend Orange factory in Rockledge that is off US1. We were a little apprehensive because of all the no tresspassing signs but we snuck around back on the train tracks and got into the large open area. It was amazing because the roof had fallin down in certain places giving off the most amazing light. It was like having a skylight over your head in shots. Which is amazing!! I brought my friend Carrie because she is like 1000 times more photogenic than I am. Also that gave me the opportunity to grab my camera and snap a few photos of her. These are the ones I got

Tran Engagement pictures

A few days ago I shot McKenzie and Tony's engagement photos. Here is a prime example why engagement photos are my favorite. There is nothing better than photographing a couple like this. They are so obviously truly in love that they make it easy. You don't have to ask them to pose a special way or do anything fake. They are just naturally beautiful around each other. Their everyday interaction is what made the photographs great. The only hard part of the day was the 20 mile per hour wind that never let up. I love girls with long hair but wind makes photographing it interesting. The best thing to do is use the wind to your advantage and get some really cool effects with her hair. So here are a few of my personal favorites......

McKenzie and Becky's Photo Shoot

Met with the girls yesterday to get some more experience with different poses and backgrounds. I was fortunate enough to have two natural beauties for models. They were so easy to photograph which gave me more time to focus on the background and posing. Totally loved the railroad tracks, bridge and painted wall. Took 807 and have to narrow them down to just a couple was way too hard!!!!!!

A May Contest Win

This month in my camera club the theme was.... the wild out doors. I knew what my competition was gonna be... photos of animals up close eating other animals and feeding their babies. I have seen these photos and Florida is the wild outdoors. I knew the competition would be steep. I really didn't have anything too "wild" but I remembered a photo I got down on Cudjoe Key of the notorious Key Deer. These little guys are protected so they have no fear of humans. I got a funny shot of one of these guys sniffing at my camera thinking it was dinner. I knew it wasn't gonna be the best in the batch but I thought what the heck... so I entered it and won an honorable mention ribbon. So here is the photo and a pic of me with my MAY win!

The Carters Family photos

I shot the Carters family photos at their home with their horses. I am a little afraid of horses, just being honest. Plus my assistant / husband is absolutely terrified of horses. so..... that made for an interesting day. haha The horses were so sweet and just wanted to check out what we were up to! We brought apples and carrots to feed them but.... were too scared to actually feed them so we just let dad do it. It was such an easy shoot for such a beautiful family. The three young daughters are absolutely gorgeous. Here are a few shots of our Family photos on the horse farm!

What a day! Well it is official! Jenny Puranen Photography is a company and we are up and running!!!!!!! Website is still a little rough but it is out there at www.jennypuranenphotography.com

what a mouthful!!!! I am so excited to start my many photographic adventures with this hobby that has officially consumed my every free minuet! I love it so much and hopefully some other people will too and I can share what I have learned in their photos! Making some $

I won another contest for this butterfly photo. I actually won first place in the Pelican Island Wildlife photo contest. This time I actually got some money! I won $75. So I finally have a profit to report! hahaha too bad that is not near enough money to cover my expenses but I will get there! Besides winning the money my photo sold at a silent auction. So now it is hanging in someone's home which is thrilling for me! All profits from the silent auction went to the Pelican Island wildlife refuge which is one of my favorite spots to go hiking! I don't know how much mine sold for yet but will find out at my next meeting!

My friend Mark came in town for a week. and any of you that know him know he is a diva and a ham. So the photo shoot i took of him was interesting to say the least. Here are a few shots I got of him. These are the ones I like. The ones he liked are pretty much up close shots of his biceps.

and I am back at it

I haven't posted in a bit been super busy with stuff around the house but oh have I been taking the photos like crazy! I did a quick pre wedding shoot for Carrie for fun and practice and got some great shots up in Long Island on vacation. I am off to Miami this weekend so I will likely get some more here are a few.........
