Effects

Well my husband plays his musical instruments pretty much all day. Here we are on a Friday night and Kari is wailing away on his guitar and drums. pretty much a usual night. I am playing with alot of different effects on my camera and adobe light room. I took the photos in Raw format and used an overlay on my camera to intertwine one of the photos. On the others I used a slow shutter speed and turned the camera during exposure. That is what is giving him the blur. I did all the colors with a 1970's feel since he is old hahahah. I look at these images and can picture them for sale on velvet at a flea market next to Elvis.

Poses

After sitting through class after class on classic portrait poses I decided to try some out for myself. Here are my parents hanging out one evening over in Wickham Park.

Jewelry

Today I was antique shopping and found this gorgeous necklace pendant I was trying to find a way to photograph it so it would show all of its detail. I used a glass table put the remote flash underneath with a reflector aimed it slightly up and laid lace down with the pendant over the lace and added an additional flash from my camera. I also shot our wedding rings together and here is how it came out!

Adobe

So I am currently learning the gigantic abyss known as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Just looking at the program for the first time is overwhelming to say the least. Even a 4 hour class on the subject didn't even crack it. Trial and Error is really the only way to learn. I was shocked to see the $700 price tag for the Photoshop CS5 program. Good thing I am going back to school in the summer bc I will get the program for $200. what a savings! Here are a couple photos using lightroom Filters and I know, I know, real photographers don't use filters but hey they are ALOT of fun to play with!!!!!!!

Favorite Texas Photos

Here is the photo that I have chosen to enter in the water theme contest. It was taken on a slow shutter speed , mid day in an irrigation pond outside the Alamo. Can you guess what it is? It is a giant coi fish swimming in the pond. If you look closely you can see another tiny fish in there as well. The slow shutter speed turned the water into smoke and I turned the camera during exposure forming the circular lines and distortion of the Coi Fish. Wish me luck!!!! Also here is my favorite photo taken on a trip to Texas.... Outside the Alamo

Favorite Texas Photos

I have a water theme contest coming up and here are a few of the possible entry's...... Lemme know what you think. The first is taken in an irrigation pond outside the Alamo in Texas. The second was taken on the riverwalk on a trip to San Antonio. Both of these images were shot on a slow shutter speed, hand holding the camera. The third is a reflection of a tree into a bird bath. Someone decided to throw some change in there for some reason but I tried to put all the focus on the trees branches and details of the leaves. The final photo is just a photo of water. This like the others was taken on a slow shutter speed and sharpened in photoshop!

Sebastian Inlet State Park

We are fortunate enough to have this amazing state park 20 miles south of us on A1A. It is so beautiful, full of wildlife and we get lots of camping in there. Lots of fishing and room for Kayaking and bike riding. Almost every campsite is on the Ocean and the sunsets are amazing. Obviously if you are in to bird watching this is the place to be!
